MasterKev

Master Kev's victory in a mix-off contest in the 1990's proved that the years of obsessing over the mixes of Timmy Regisford, Tony Humphries and others on radio and in clubs, studying underground dance and beat syncopation and accumulating a killer collection of records finally paid off . And as the number of shows soared, so did Kev's talent. Soon after, hero Tony Humphries called Kev to ask him to join forces with him on his Yellorange Label. His answer? A triumphant 'Hell Yeah'.: more info:

Savage Knights

A group of multi-instrumentalists with a wide range of styles, including influences from jazz, rock and roll, avant garde, world music, funk, and modern classical sounds.

Chris Wells

From San Francisco's bluesy Boom Boom Room to the legendary NYC club CBGB's, the soul of WELLS emanates from the core of a musician whose passion bleeds through every song. Its predecessor Lovehead, the brainchild of Christopher Wells, began as an explorative journey into the emotional depths of this complex artist. Recognized for his vocal ability from an early age, this multi-instrumentalist defies conventional categorization. An accomplished guitarist and bassist, he has also been known to tickle the ivories if it fits the mood of the song. Wells was surrounded by musical talent as a child with blues, soul and jazz musicians peppering his family tree. At 19, he formed Peasants of the Apocalypse, an industrial rock band ahead of its time. During the bands seven year history, P.O.A. opened up for Metallica, Everclear, Def Leppard and a slew of other notable acts. After various projects including a brief stint with NYC darlings Apollo Heights, Wells turned his focus toward his next incarnation. WELLS was spawned out of the growth he experienced and also out of the honor he held for the generations of musicians in his family. Lyrically, his focus shifted from angry commentary on life's external forces to the soul-searching he faced within. Stirring melodic compositions are accentuated by Wells' own layered production techniques. In challenging himself both technically and emotionally, his songwriting straddles several genres seamlessly. WELLS challenges music's boundaries with a palpable rawness that takes you on the emotional journey with him. By fusing rock, soul, psychedelia and blues into one cohesive sound, this multi-instrumentalist creates his own unique vibe. Feel it.

Freebass

Suede "It ~as about seven or eight monthS'after I moved to North Carolina that I was asked to be a guest judge
at a beat battle thrown by Ninth Wonder. It was the first beat battle I'd ever been to and there was a lot
of talent there. In the middle of the battle they allowed some producers to play some of their tracks
because they missed the deadline to enter. This one cat, that was not even a contestant, played his
tracks. He just stood out like Saturn on Earth! And then he was gone. Later I found out that he was the
seven time champion! The Apple Juice Kid, I never forgot his name! I knew I would see him again and
as faith would have it, months later I did. I heard about a Purple Saint James Show and decided to
go because I'm a huge fan of her work only to find out The Apple Juice Kid was the drummer in her
band. And thus the cancer connection was made and ..."Free Bass 808" was conceived!"
